A Voyage to The Celtic Cup

The other day, I traveled with my husband to Tullahoma, TN. I was looking for an experience to be had when I came across a Google listing for the Celtic Cup. I was immediately excited. Here’s what we experienced.

The Aesthetic
I loved the logo on the sign on the front. It was very fitting. I loved the elements of the landscaping that whirled and winded around the building. Unfortunately, the place a whole didn’t quite slap. The decor seemed a little confused. There were lovely elements that were definitely trying to work, but as a whole came off as confused.

However, Noah, my husband, loved it. He said that if we lived in town that it would definitely be one of his local haunts. It was very cozy inside, but because of Cherry, we had to eat outside. My experience might have been a tad different if we had eaten inside, but I so appreciated the outdoor patio offering me the opportunity to enjoy the experience even with my little dog in tow.

The owner informed me that the stained glass was done by Tammy O’Connor, a local stained glass artist. How lovely and intelligent for the owner to have a local do their stained glass. Support local to support local. An amazing touch.

The Customer Service
I did not directly interact with the cashier, but my husband said he had a holistically lovely experience with the staff. The woman that took his order had a Peter Pan-esque demeanor and was lively while walking him through the ordering process. (Props to this cashier.) This interaction added to the charming nature of the place.

The Food
The food that we had was absolutely banging. We had two cups of gelato, and a latte. The latte might have been the best coffee I had ever had and the gelato was divine. Perhaps, we will go back sometime to experience their savory menu options.

The Pricing
The pricing was very reasonable which added to the approachable vibe of the place. The

A Side Note
While visiting the place, I took a walk around the shop and left Cherry with Noah for a few minutes. I walked up the stairs and happened upon the Highland Rim Tatters which I can’t seem to find any social accounts for, but they are a group that gathers on the upper floor weekly, I think. They were so very friendly. Noah later told me that among them was the owner of the coffee shop. I believe I spoke to her then afraid I was intruding on their space, and she assured me I was welcome. She even invited me to co-occupy the space with them. I was extremely grateful to be allowed to look around, but I couldn’t stay. She was extremely kind, approachable, and had a warmth that emanated from her. Probably a staple of her community if I had to guess.

The Website
In my opinion, the website is outdated and could very easily be brought into the modern day.

The Experience as a Whole

To conclude, The Celtic Cup boasts numerous delightful and commendable aspects. However, I believe that with a few straightforward adjustments, the establishment’s identity could achieve a more cohesive and focused ambiance, enhancing the overall experience for visitors. I wanted to feel liked I had stumbled into an old world home or tavern, and the design of the interior and choice of paint for the exterior walls fell short of my expectations.
