Lately, I’ve allowed the chaos of my environment and life to overrun me mentally. My house is a mess. Dealing with the fallout from my most recent medical issues is simply overwhelming – I have a book as thick as a thesaurus containing bills and records. My husband is having major back issues and working insane hours at work, and I’m building a business which, let’s be real, is its own chaos, but I love it!
My point is, there is always going to be chaos – it’s not some novel thing. Sometimes, there is more chaos than at other times. If we allow ourselves to believe we are unique in all our chaos, failure, and mess, we miss out on an opportunity and get tired quickly and maybe even burn out, but if we can embrace the chaos, we can rule over it instead of vice versa. If we can realize chaos isn’t some shame-ridded thing and that everyone experiences it, we open ourselves up to thrive in the midst of it.
There are always going to be distractions and various people and tasks vying for our time. The battle for peace and the ability to thrive is a battle, and we need the right mental toolbox to do it – and that doesn’t include shame. I think we allow the shame of what people might think if they saw us in our current mess to hinder us from thriving in any given environment regardless and rising above it to accomplish amazing things.
To accomplish our goals, we must be immovable in pursuing them. We must fly despite the wind conditions.
